Back in Michigan

We arrived in Michigan Friday night July 2nd. Shipped our car here and actually beat it here by 2 hours. What luck. Saturday we spent the day trying to unpack. That night we were invited to the Crescent Sailing Club by the Malley family for Andrew's birthday celebration and 4th of July celebration. What a perfect night it was. Great to be with wonderful families and the weather was perfect.

Happy Birthday Andrew Malley

Josie and Reggie took a cruise around the club in the wagon.

Some of the group listening to the music waiting for the fireworks to start over the lake.

Josie and the big kids. It is so nice that she could have a little independence with the kids. They took her with them in a wagon. She loves to apart of the group. It was nice she could do this without my assistance...rare moment in our lives. Thanks guys for including her.

Beautiful fireworks over the lake. What a treat.

Who is the masked bandit??

You guessed it!!

But a trick...who are these glowing eyes??

Yes, May and Melissa Eger.

Happy 4th of July. It is with great gratitude that we humbly thank all the service men and women of this incredible nation who keep us safe. We celebrate our independence while profusely thanking them for their service.

Chickadees has begun. This might be Josie's favorite thing in her life. For those of you who don't know what this is it is the local synchronized swim team. She is in the youngest group called the Chickadees. It is the cutest thing to watch them. They do a pretty good job in the show and are adorable at that. There are about 15 girls in her group. They will be preforming their routine this year to the Beatles, Here Comes the Sun. Practiced started on Monday for Josie. There are some of the same girls from last year and a few new ones. The coaches are really great with the team and actually teach them these moves. I will post the video of the performance when she does it on Saturday, July 31st. My parents are even flying out for it because it is so important to her. I love that there is some kind of team activity for her to do. I think it is so beneficial for kids to have sports and team activities. It helps in their life skills.

So look closely at these 2 pictures. The top was taken exactly a year ago to the day. Notice that Sylwia has her strapped into the suit to help hold her body in position, her hear is down because she has to look at her feet to know where to put each step, she is grasping the handles so tight that I really do think she got blisters from it that week, most importantly is that Sylwia is having to hold her hips to help her balance and help her stay up.

Now look at the bottom picture. She is standing independently by bringing herself off the mat. She has by no means perfected this, but wow, can you even believe the difference in a year? It definitely wasn't without blood, sweat and tears (a few good laughs too) from numerous people including Przemek, Sylwia, Liz in CA, myself(I will add me since I think I had the majority of the blood, sweat and tears) and especially our warrior, Josie. Thanks you guys for keeping us going. Here's to one more hard year...at least now she is excited to do it and there won't be the "war" that we had for part of the time last year.

Unfortunately, today dear little Maks got sick and Sylwia had to stay home with him so we had to miss therapy. The nice part is that it was another scorcher in MI today so we got to go with the Livingstons and Egers to The Little Club for a day in the pool. It was so hot we literally spent the good part of the day in the pool. You should see little Reggie motor himself around. He just started swimming this week and he is really getting the hang of it. Cutest ever. About 4 o'clock it was 96 degrees out. Within 10 minutes (not joke) we were running to get out of there because a major storm rolled in with torrential down pour, lightening and thunder. It also dropped 20 degrees that fast to 76. Crazy!! Needless to say we all headed home. Josie and I were going to go back out when it cleared, but it took so long, we made dinner and played instead. Nice catch up day since we didn't go all the way out to therapy.

Just relaxing with her pandas playing a quick game on the DS before bed. She loves this more relaxed lifestyle we have back here. It helps us both slow down somewhat.

Some quick family news, so my dad hasn't been feeling well for the last few days. He has been complaining about felling faint and dizzy, but also just started a new blood pressure med and thought it was just side effect. Last night he was making a delivery in LC and he got so dizzy he had to lay down on the driveway of the mans house. For all of you that know my dad, this is very uncharacteristic of him. He is so healthy and strong and doesn't get real sick. So the nice guy called the paramedics and then got ahold of my mom. They rushed him to Huntington Hospital to run tests. They found out that he is bleeding somewhere in his stomach. They transfused him with 3 pints of blood last night and kept him there. Today they took him in for an endoscopy. Fortunately and unfortunately, they couldn't find the cause. He is still in the hospital to monitor bleeding. It it gets worse tonight they will do another procedure tonight. If not they will monitor and probably release him for the weekend and get the procedure done in the next week or so. They have ruled out the scary stuff and think it may be an ulcer somewhere at the top of the small intestine. Anyway, prayers please for Dad. Lucky we are in the land of good docs and good hospitals. Mom is the best nurse yet...Josie has given her A LOT of practice. It is hard to be so far away when something like this happens, but at least he will be ok.

Now that I have the internet finally working here, I will keep up on the blog. Hope everyone is enjoying every moment of summer. We plan to take full advantage to it all. Happy summer night to all, Jenny and Josie

PS. Happy Birthday to Uncle Mike. Sorry we couldn't post on your real day, July 5th. We miss you guys!!
